Best Way To Implement Affiliate Banners

I have seen the obvious growth in popularity of affiliation programs over the last few years. Like most webmasters, I've been trying hard to figure out how I can make money from these programs. I kept seeing people quoting figures they were making and I wondered how they did this. It becomes very frustrating and annoying, when you only make small amounts after all your efforts.

In this article, I'm going explain what I think is the best way to implement them on your website. The first thing to know is you can have all the affiliation links and banners you want on your website. But without a strong traffic base, you will more and likely find a minor income from affiliation programs.

The Best Way

Affiliate Programs are a great way to make a bit of extra cash but your main content and purpose of your website, should always come first. This is why your visitors are coming to your website; they want to view your content and not flashy banners everywhere. If they find an affiliation link interesting and possible may be something they wish to find more information on. They will click this link but will more and likely be put off, if they are blinded by this large flashy banner.

This is why; it's a must in my opinion to push your main content of a page to a visitor and subtle place an affiliation link on the page. Meaning place it somewhere it can be seen but doesn't interfere with the visitors browsing experience. After all, they are viewing the page because they believe it provides information they need or are interested in viewing.

I tend to section my web design off into different areas and usually have a specific area for advertising or affiliation. Of course within restrictions of your design, this isn't always possible but it's a good protocol to follow. As your visitors will become aware of where to find the main content they wish to view but will also subtle see affiliation links that they may find interesting. As afore-mentioned, if they see an advertisement they find interesting, they will click and view.
